Hello everyone, and sorry about the title, took me weeks to conjure up . . . .

 

So the Tour Series cycle race has been and gone, we had some VIP hospitality and some of the teams with us, went very well.  Although the city did not draw the crowds expected which was a shame because it was a great event.  Now we move on to the sponsorship of the Cathedral Summer concert and Peterfest which I am sure will be a great success.

 

We have now started new promotions, with free Wifi and car parking inclusive for all Hotel residents.  We try to keep adding value to our guests during these tough economic times.

 

We have launched our new RBG promotion for June, 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 - come and try it !

 

We have yet more marketing campaigns underway.  We have , or should I say had, a banner up on East of England showground on the entrance.  We work very closely with the management team there and are keen to work together still further - but someone nicked my banner !!  Never fear, another one - only this time bigger - is on its way !!! 

 

We have also stopped advertising on local tradesman's vehicles , our van seemed to cause some upset so thought it best we stop.  It seems the high level banners, and funny coloured cars are all acceptable though . . . . . 

 

And we have something new coming, this will really light up your life, coming soon . . . .

Hope you are well and had a good Easter ?  We spent the time being busy busy to launch our latest promotions !

 

TOTAL MEETINGS is being blitzed now.  If you ever have to organise meetings , you know how detailed it is.  You need everything to just work, and thats where we come in.

 

TOTAL MEETINGS offers a new solution during these difficult times.  One price.  So you know your budget.  You could of course make half a dozen enquiries and get half a dozen different prices , then when you add on your coffee, your lunch, oh and extra flipchart - the tv is extra, you pay more to set up the night before etc etc etc you have overspent before you started.  

 

Here , its one price.  You want a meeting for 20 people all day it is one price.  You want a meeting for 20 people all day and tea and coffee in the morning and the afternoon, you use the tv for an hour, need six flipcharts and an LCD projector in the afternoon, it is the same price.

Finally, congratulations to The Posh on their fantastic achievement on getting into the Championship next season.  We are proud to be their official Hotel, and recently hosted the sponsors lunch event in RBG which was a great success.  Good luck for next season lads !

Hello everyone,

 

Hope all is well with you and yours ,

 

Well we are clearly getting a bit more well known in the city now, judging by March's performance, where we exceeded my own expectations.  It is great to be busy and so soon after opening, and I am pleased - I was running out of things to market us on !  You've probably seen the banners on Queensgate and maybe the van driving around ?

 

 

 

 

We had our RBG Launch event here on Friday 3rd April - a mixture of 120 party goers, VIP's, key clients, our guests, competition winners, press, food critics etc were in attendance, and everyone had a great time !  I am especially proud of my team for their delivery - the food was quoted as "out of this world!" I was especially proud when one gentleman , as I assisted him with his coat as he and his wife prepared to leave, stopped to tell me that they were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this week and that we had made their night .  It was a walkaround buffet affair, four buffets throughout our Restaurant hosted by our chefs, offering tastes of all of our menu and more .  The fish station with the king scallops and prawns in an ice sculpture shaped like a oyster shell was a hit, and the Chef carving sirloin in front of the guests disappeared before I got to taste it.  The homemade desserts caused a human traffic jam, and of course the free wine and cocktails the bar girls were making to order weren't ignored.  We will have a similar theme to our New years Eve celebrations this year - yes, our Christmas brochure is already available.

 

I hope you also saw our Restaurant review in the ET "The Guide" on Friday 3rd also ?  4 star rating and good feedback (I am hoping it is out of four or maybe five stars but i still dont know . . . .) so come on down here and try us.  Hotel Restaurant does not always mean "expensive" - you can get a delicious Steak from our famous chargrill for under £10, what are you waiting for ?  And our 25% off will continue until the end of May.

 

As you may already know, we will soon be a major part of the Tour series cycle event here in Peterborough in June.  The circuit goes past our front door.  Hospitality will be available with outdoor BBQ and Bars etc I will keep you posted after we have done the launch event with Opportunity Peterborough and the Tour Series tomorrow night here at the Hotel.

Hope all is well with you and yours, toughing it out in difficult economic times is bad enough, then we get a weeks worth of snow in February, brilliant . . .

 

Well , now we are on the up - weather is getting milder, less talk of doom and gloom, and personally the Hotel is getting busier and busier.  Still room for more though so if you havent been yet, why not ?!  From the feedback you have all given us and from the faces I see of an evening, those have been keep coming and plan to keep coming - so the rest of you dont know what you are missing !!

Hello one and all,

 

We are settled in, the nest is made and now we join the battle in this "current economic climate".  I wont call it anything else, because frankly as I am sure you are, I am sick of hearing it or seeing it on the news on loop every twenty minutes.  However, I am pleased to report a successful opening, really positive feedback from those of you who have been to see us and experience us, and if you havent yet and fancy a grand tour , come on in and one of us will accomodate you because we are all very proud of our new venture.

 

We have big plans for February.  We continue our 25% off your bill for RBG, our fantastic Restaurant and Bar which is really going down well. Although, the famous Hanger steak at only £9.95 still makes you suspicious.  Read "Mens Health" this month , it is in there as a great source of protein, a very lean and nutritious cut of meat.  It is basically near the diaphragm , full of flavour and "No, you cant find it in the supermarket" - traditionally the butcher would take it home to his family as it is seen as one of the best cuts of meat.  It is in the name - imagine the underbelly of a cow as you look at it, the "hanging bit" , thats where its from !

 

We will be having an RBG launch party with famous faces, food critics and our guests, of which you could be one if you are in the draw through the promotion which we are putting out around the city the next couple of weeks.

I feel I should say sorry.  I have had a few mails saying "my cars" are driving erratically, or breaching the speed limit.  After interrogating my Sales Manager who drives our mini , for 24 hours without daylight food or water , he would not break.  Then I took away his cappucino and snake skin shoes and he blabbed.  It seems he is innocent.  We have "wrapped" two taxis (of which you can see the pictures) with a local firm who seemed to have crossed some of your paths.  I have spoken to the boss who assures me there will be no reocurrence.

 

Our Grand opening is March 5th.  A real chance to celebrate coming to this great city, and to show what we can do.  Invites are going out shortly, and again, watch the press for your chance to be there !
